The soundtrack for the installation „Life Signs“ is based on the concept, one poem six songs, composed with various styles of music that represent distinct phases of life.The first song starts with a recording of the heartbeat of an unborn child, the songs that follow are musical interpretations of lifes development starting from birth, leading to childhood, puberty, adulthood, ending with death. All of the songs have the identical text though the musical compositions vary from phase to phase of lifes cycle.
Life signs is a text relief music fusion, a narrative audio, visual installation based on a parallel level of personal reception. The theme is contemplation, personal space and the transiency of lifes cycle. One poem, twenty text reliefs combined with the six song soundtrack created in the years 2002-2003.
Each one of the twenty reliefs are inscribed with text ecerpts of the poem.The reliefs are all made in wood with sculptural components and kept in a monochromatic pastel color scheme. The lyrics - texts are spoken and sung in the languages English and German. Music is an essential component used to stimulate the viewers emotions and imagination. The soundtrack was created and recorded in collaboration with M.D. Kettler (ARTkustik).

Try and try again, wealth and success a little more
